The Jacob Grimm School is a special language school in the district of Soest.
Due to the special abilities and difficulties of the pupils, teaching must be tailored to their individual needs.
All children have a priority need for support in the area of language, many also have other areas of support such as learning or emotional and social development.
Project-oriented lessons with consideration for the children’s personal learning paths are important.
Teachers are therefore very keen to inspire the children with interesting topics in class.
Classes 3a and 3b worked on the topic of planets and outer space in their science lessons.
In the classes, the pupils were able to learn about the solar system, rockets and astronauts, among other things.
Various interdisciplinary texts were also read in German and calculations were carried out in mathematics.
After several weeks of studying the topic in class, there was a great desire to visit the planetarium in Bochum.
Many families are unable to visit the planetarium.
To make this excursion possible, the Karl Bröcker Foundation supported the two school classes financially.
The trip to Bochum was by bus and the little space explorers had a wonderful day.
The visit to the planetarium gave the children a lot of new knowledge.
