Karo e.V. – Summer camp

"We are superheroes"

“We are superheroes”

This was the motto of this year’s summer camp organized by KARO e.V. – an association that primarily supports children and young people who have experienced physical, psychological and/or sexual violence.

A varied program of prevention activities, creative workshops and sports activities offered the 28 participating children the opportunity to gain new experiences and discover their own strengths. The “Imaginarium creative corner”, where the children made their own superhero capes and then presented them in a small show, was particularly popular.

In addition to play and creativity, there was also space for important discussions: employees from the Czech Republic held prevention sessions in age- and gender-specific groups. Throughout the camp, one-to-one meetings were also held to provide the children with individual support and to gently discuss any potentially stressful experiences.

Another special highlight was the “children’s boutique” tent, where lovingly selected clothes awaited the children – to try on, feel good and take home. At the beginning, all participants also received a hygiene package with important everyday items.

Every year, the summer camp in Bavaria offers the children a valuable break from everyday life and a protected space in which they can play, laugh and simply be children. KARO e.V. owes the fact that this special experience is possible to the support of committed sponsors, including the Karl Bröcker Foundation, who are equally concerned about the children’s well-being.
