School Dance Week – A week full of movement and enthusiasm

What happens when an entire school dances together? Lots of movement, enthusiasm, and—above all—a strong sense of community. That’s exactly what the students in grades 1 through 7 at the Im Grünen Winkel School in Lippstadt—a special education school focused on learning—experienced during their project week with “Move in School”. For an entire week, the focus was on dance, movement, and trying new things together. The children had a blast developing their own choreographies, learning new moves, and discovering what’s possible when you get active together. The project week was made possible thanks to the support of the Karl Broecker Foundation.

The highlight was the school festival on June 19, 2026, where the students performed the dances they had rehearsed for their parents, family members, and friends. With obvious joy and great self-confidence, they demonstrated what they had learned during the project week and were rewarded with enthusiastic applause. Grades 8 and 9 also presented the results of their projects. In this way, the project week became a shared experience that went far beyond dancing.

The project week vividly demonstrated how physical activity, music, and shared experiences can empower children and foster a sense of community.

The Karl Broecker Foundation is pleased to have supported this project and, in doing so, to have enabled the students to enjoy a special week filled with physical activity, creativity, and shared successes.
