The history
of the foundation

A look into the past - and many glimpses into the future!

In 1962, the entrepreneur Karl Bröcker founded Gesika Büromöbelwerke in Geseke. The family business developed successfully and focused on social commitment right from the start, initially under Karl Bröcker, who then handed over the management of the company to his daughter Renate. Renate Bröcker continued the work in her father’s spirit – until she died in a traffic accident in 1998. Now the far-sightedness that characterized this family business and Renate Bröcker in particular became apparent: the young woman had stipulated in her will that her assets should flow into a foundation bearing the name of her late father. The Karl Bröcker Foundation was established in 1999.

Equal opportunities for all!

Renate Bröcker wanted to create prospects in life, especially for disadvantaged children and young people. The Karl Bröcker Foundation was a matter close to her heart. And it is still a matter close to the hearts of all those active in and associated with the foundation.
We are convinced that the children of today are shaping the future of tomorrow. And we help them to do so.

Renate Böcker’s commitment and foresight continue to determine the actions of those responsible at the foundation to this day. Gesika Büromöbelwerke was incorporated into Sedus Stoll AG in 2002 and has been trading under the name Sedus Systems GmbH ever since. This guaranteed that office furniture from Geseke is still available today.
